A six-vehicle crash near Interstate 225 and Tamarac Street seriously injured two drivers and snarled traffic on Wednesday.

Denver Police believe a driver was going the wrong way down northbound I-225 and hit three vehicles, officials said just after 10 a.m.

Denver Fire Department said two people were trapped in their cars, and police confirmed there were serious injuries that sent two people to a local hospital.

Northbound I-225 at Interstate 25 and north and south I-25 ramps to northbound I-225 were closed shortly after the crash.

While first responders investigated, commuters were being directed to the flyover on Tamarac Street Wednesday morning.

The crash is under investigation, police said.
