Bullet found outside Summit Middle School, sheriff’s office investigating

The Summit County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after finding one bullet outside Summit Middle School Friday morning.

The SWAT team and K-9 unit were being deployed to conduct searches in the area, according to a tweet from the sheriff’s office just after 11 a.m.

The sheriff’s office said to expect a heavy law enforcement presence.

Summit Middle School is undergoing a controlled evacuation, according to itsTwitter account. The middle school said students’ release will be conducted at Summit High School and that more information about the release will be given shortly.

“Staff and students are safe,” read a tweet from the middle school.
