Six guns, some ammunition and a Mason jar containing two small jars with medical stickers on them were found in the home of a 37-year-old Florissant man accused of threatening his children and an elementary school, his arrest affidavit shows.

Jason Scott Smith is being charged with inciting destruction of life or property, a felony, sheriff’s spokesman Greg Couch told KOAA-TV.

He also faces felony charges of menacing and possession of a weapon by a previous offender as well as a charge of misdemeanor harassment, court records show. He’s being held on a $50,000 cash-only bond.

Smith was arrested Friday after an anonymous tipster said he was shouting at his children, ages 1 to 8, and threatening to harm them, the Teller County Sheriff’s Office said last week in a news release. He allegedly threatened a neighbor’s family as well, telling them he wanted to be “a school shooter” and mentioning Summit Elementary School in Divide.
