Facebook confirms it’s expanding in Denver but says no lease has been signed

The social network company received city approval for 22,800 square feet in downtown Denver, according to city

Facebook confirmed Tuesday that it is hiring technology workers in Denver, following city zoning approvals for a large office space in downtown.

The social network giant received zoning approval on Friday for a 22,800-square-foot office space at 1900 16th St., which is the 17-story  that also is home to Pricewaterhouse Coopers and ReadyTalk.  first reported the filing.

A Facebook spokesman confirmed the company is hiring and “is investing in local talent” but said no lease for the space has been signed for the building. The company declined to share further details. The building’s management company, CBRE, also declined to comment.

According to the zoning permit issued by the city of Denver, the office would occupy the entire seventh floor of Tower One.

The company has  The jobs are for network engineers, a data center manager and other data-center related engineering jobs. The data-center manager job seeks someone who will “provide constructing consulting services.”

The company has an existing operation inside the Thrive Workplace coworking space on 1415 Park Ave.
