Officials are searching for an inmate who escaped from Skyline Correctional Center in Fremont County after officers were unable to locate him during the noon count Sunday at the minimum security level prison.
Robert Roberts, 22, was serving an 18 month-sentence for forgery out of Fremont County. He was scheduled to be released July 23, the Department of Corrections said.
Roberts is 5 feet, 9 inches tall, weighs 170 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing dark green inmate clothing and was believed to be on foot near the river between Mackenzie Avenue and Pathfinder Park, according to the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office sent out an emergency notification about Roberts to an area within a two-mile radius of the prison.
The DOC Escape Team was activated and is working with local law enforcement to search for Roberts.
