
Tim Tebow is getting a promotion.
The former Denver Broncos quarterback turned New York Mets outfield prospect will begin the 2018 season in Double-A with the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, according to .
Tebow finished last season at High Single-A St. Lucie where he hit .220 with three home runs and 23 RBIs in 64 games. He struggled at Mets spring training this year, connecting on one hit in 18 at-bats for a .056 batting average.
Sandy Alderson vowed to be aggressive with Tim Tebow's development, and he's keeping to his word. The Mets plan to announce next week that Tebow will begin the minor league season at Double-A Binghamton, according to a source. Tebow ended last year at Class A St. Lucie.

Tebow could potentially face the Hartford Yard Goats — the Rockies’ Double-A affiliate — 18 times during the season. With the Columbia Fireflies last year, he faced the Rockies’ Single-A Asheville Tourists three times — finishing the series hitting 4-for-10 with a double, a triple and three runs.
