Authorities arrested a man Wednesday after he allegedly fired multiple shots into Guadalajara Sports Bar in Westminster earlier this month, sending one to the hospital.

Amilcar Leonel Esquivel Hernandez, 33, faces eight counts of attempted first-degree murder, according to the Westminster Police Department. Police say he was taken into custody in Texas.

On March 9, police received several calls around 9:10 p.m. about a shooting at the sports bar, located on West 72nd Avenue east of Federal Boulevard.

Initial indications suggested bar staff had asked the man to leave. Police believe he returned and began shooting at the business.

A man was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound and is expected to survive, police say.
