I started doing standup comedy at Comedy Works in the early 1980s, the same time as Roseanne Barr. Needless to say, our entertainment aspirations and successes were quite divergent. I was able to watch her meteoric rise to stardom from the sidelines, and observed her days in Denver before her eventual move to Hollywood and stardom.
Last week, Barr once again was in the spotlight with the renewal of her old TV series, “Roseanne.” Being an avid Donald Trump supporter, she received a congratulatory call from him due to the show’s success. Also last week, she tweeted a photo of David Hogg, a survivor of the Parkland, Fla., school shooting, inferring that he was displaying a Nazi salute at a recent rally.
Throughout the years and all her fame and fortune, Barr has managed to remain as crass and classless as always.
