A 71-year-old man suffered a concussion Thursday in a quarter-mile fall off of a trail in Sunshine Canyon.

About 7:10 p.m. the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Boulder Fire Rescue and other emergency responders were dispatched to the incident, according to a news release.

The man had been hiking with his wife and son when he fell. His family members provided aid until rescue workers were able to reach him.

Rocky Mountain Rescue Group and other responders lowered the injured man down the mountainside, and he was taken to Boulder Community Hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening, the release said.
