Two Coloradans have been selected as inaugural Obama Foundation Fellows, beating out more than 20,000 people from 191 countries.
The foundation selected 20 fellows from 11 countries. Aurora’s Veronica Crespin-Palmer and Boulder’s Ashley Hanson were among the fellows.
Crespin-Palmer is the co-founder and CEO of , an organization that tackles education inequity for low-income families and families of color.
Hanson, who is based out of both Boulder and Granite Falls, Minn., uses the arts to connect rural communities and revitalize rural spaces through and .
The fellowship will offer the two ongoing skill-building and training courses, individual mentoring and connection to global leaders.
