Thornton man sentenced to 10 years in federal prison on drug conviction

A 33-year-old Thornton man has been sentenced to federal prison on drug charges.

Richard Thomas Slate was sentenced Thursday by U.S. District Judge Alan B. Johnson to 10 years in prison for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, according to the U.S. attorney for Wyoming.

Slate, who was arrested in Colorado, also was sentenced to five years of supervised release and ordered to pay $500 restitution. The Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation investigated the case.
