A former Douglas County High School teacher and softball coach must register as a sex offender as part of a plead agreement after he admitted to sexting with a 17-year-old female student.

Brian Stebbins, 42, pleaded guilty April 24 to the felony charge of , according to Denver7.

Stebbins was arrested June 2 and was charged with sexual exploitation of a child. The exploitation charged was dropped as part of a plea agreement.

Stebbins was an English teacher and girls softball coach at the school in Castle Rock.

A judge also ordered Stebbins to 60 days in jail and two years of supervised probation, completion of a healthy sexual boundaries class and 20 counseling sessions.
