A male suspect is dead in Pueblo County after he reportedly pulled a gun on deputies Saturday morning.

The man has not been identified yet.

Deputies were responding to a suspicious vehicle in the area of Acoma Road and 32 3/4 lane about 9 a.m., when they learned one of the vehicle’s occupants was wanted on several felony warrants, according to reports.

Deputies tried to contact the suspect to make an arrest, and the man allegedly pulled a gun on deputies.

Shots were fired, and the suspect was hit and killed, officials said.

No deputies were injured. A second occupant of the vehicle, identified as a woman, was arrested.

The Pueblo Police Department is leading the investigation.
