Three people suspected of stealing guns and ammunition from a Westminster home on Wednesday morning were arrested in Wheat Ridge.
Police were called about 8 a.m. on a burglary in progress in the 7800 block of McCella Court, according to a news release. A neighbor phoned police after seeing several people in garage who were “trying to remove a large gun safe from the home.”
The suspects fled before officers arrived, but the witness gave police a description of a suspect vehicle involved in the incident. The homeowner told investigators several handguns and ammunition were missing from the residence.
A short time after the burglary, a suspect vehicle was spotted in Wheat Ridge, and three suspects were taken into custody without further incident.
Police identified the trio as: Sean Altman, 34; Skyler Berns, 18; and Rebel Bonser, 24. They were arrested on suspicion of burglary and theft. Bonser is also suspected of possession of a weapon by a previous offender.

Police did not say whether guns and ammunition missing from the Westminster home were recovered.
