Case Keenum’s ascension as the Minnesota Vikings’ starting quarterback on their run to the NFC championship game last fall was a feel-good story so surprising it could have been taken straight from the pages of a thrilling sports novel.

So it shouldn’t surprise that Keenum’s football journey will be documented in an upcoming book — written by the now Broncos’ starting quarterback.

“Playing for More: Trust Beyond What You Can See” is set for a September release and is . The book, published by LifeWay, was co-written by Andrew Perloff of the Dan Patrick Show.

“I never dreamed that I would possibly be able to author a book, but I had some really good help,” Keenum told reporters during mandatory minicamp. “Itap kind of the story of me off the field, not just on the field, but why I play, why I do what I do and why I get to stand up here and talk to you guys — be the Denver Broncos’ quarterback. Itap pretty special to me and I’ll let people in and tell some pretty cool stories that a lot of people may not have heard. Itap just a blessing. God has been so good in my life. If it encourages and challenges somebody, then I’ve accomplished something with it.”

Count Broncos coach Vance Joseph among those excited to turn its pages.

“It’s going to be a great book, I’m sure,” Joseph said, “and he’ll have a good season for us.”
