Getting your player ready...

The Fourth of July is full of reasons to push your summer home search south to Castle Rock, a town that celebrates a very memorable Fourth in its matchless array of parks and open spaces.

You can head down Saturday, June 30, to see five ranch plans that KB Home has ready for move-in at Panorama at The Meadows, 2 miles west of I-25 on Castle Rock Parkway, and then return on the Fourth for a taste of what living in Castle Rock would really be like.

That will start the morning of the Fourth with a “Red, White and You” festival at The Meadows’ Bison Park at 11:15 a.m., with a parade (kids can decorate their bikes) followed by live music and a trackless train.

Residents return to their parks at sundown for fireworks shot from buttes above The Meadows (Castle Rock Fire and Rescue plans a final safety check).

Meanwhile, buyers who may have been hesitant to look south of Highlands Ranch in the past are showing up in numbers now, says Randy Carpenter, Colorado Division president for KB Home.

“They’re out shopping so they can be moved in by end of summer,” he adds. “No matter how they perceived Castle Rock before, they’re now getting that The Meadows is 15 minutes from south I-25 business campuses, with a better choice of parks and amenities.”

As if on cue, a couple walked into KB Home’s two Panorama model homes, planning a move to Colorado from Arizona.

“I’m hitting 70, but we don’t want an all-adult community,” the man said, adding that he had once been a Denver Post reader while at the U.S. Air Force Academy.

KB Home’s Mario Fargnoli said Panorama would be a perfect fit: a variety of ranch homes to choose from, plus the unmatched quality of amenities in Castle Rock and The Meadows.

After you tour the Hawthorne three-bedroom ranch showhome, you can see another ranch thatap ready for move-in now — one like the model, that has a finished walkout lower level and a view of skyline west of Castle Rock. It has a master suite on the main level with a private exit out to the deck; a main-floor study; and two more bedrooms in the walkout. Itap priced at $530,000.

KB Home has four other ranches ready to go — and other plans for later delivery from the $480s.

You can see how close this community is to the trailhead into Native Legend Open Space, as well as to the Meadows’ two resort-style pool centers, and new Philip S. Miller Park, six minutes south, a destination with something for everyone — 7.4 miles of trails, a 200-step Challenge Hill, and an Adventure Playground with ziplines and a 40-foot slide.

The Meadows, five minutes from the dining scene in Castle Rock’s historic downtown, has a number of routes in, but Carpenter recommends you make your visit to Panorama by using the new Castle Rock Parkway exit beside the new Promenade shopping center.  “It gives you a whole new way of looking at how accessible Castle Rock is, particularly our neighborhood at Panorama,” he said.

Take I-25 south past C-470 about 8 miles to the first Castle Rock exit, head south on Castle Rock Parkway 2 miles to Meadows Boulevard and turn right.
