Authorities have lifted a pre-evacuation order for about 200 homes after firefighters made progress against the Switzerland fire, which broke out near the Sugarloaf Mountain Trailhead west of Boulder, authorities say.

The wildfire burning in heavy forest had covered about an acre in size, said Carrie Haverfield, spokeswoman for Boulder County Sheriff’s Department.

Firefighters from about a half dozen fire departments responded to the fire, located about 13 miles west of Boulder. Emergency calls about the fire started at about 10 a.m., Haverfield said.

No homes were burned and nobody was injured, she said.
