A Longmont man accused of spying on someone and taking nude photos of that person was sentenced to prison Friday.

Daniel Maestas, 57, had pleaded guilty to a felony charge of second-degree assault — drugging the victim, as well as a misdemeanor charge of sexual contact — no consent, at his disposition hearing in April.
Maestas was sentenced to six years in the Department of Corrections as well as one year at Boulder County Jail, to be served concurrently, according to Boulder County District Attorney Michael Dougherty.
The other charges Maestas faced, with included other sexual assault and incest charges, were dismissed by the district attorney as part of the plea deal.
According to an arrest affidavit, Maestas spied on someone through holes in the wall and took nude photos of that person. He also wrote “the things I want to do to her” in pornographic magazines.
