
A fire burned through an unoccupied, boarded-up farm house in Adams County Friday afternoon, throwing off a plume of black smoke that was visible from Interstate 25.
The fire, in the 3100 block of East 78th Avenue, also burned sheds and other miscellaneous debris, according to Adams County Fire Rescue.

A passerby called 911 at about 2:50 p.m. to notify authorities of the fire. Firefighters immediately fought the fire and looked for people in two structures, but no one was found. There were no injuries.
The fire was out at about 3:30 p.m., but firefighters remained on scene in case hot spots flared up. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The fire was just north of a recycling plant fire that burned July 10.
