Ryann Rice, 20, pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful sexual contact on July 13 in exchange for prosecutors dropping charges of sexual assault, according to court records.

A deferred sentence means that if Rice can fulfill the terms of his sentence and not pick up any new criminal charges during his two-year sentence, his guilty plea will be withdrawn.

Rice will have to register as a sex offender for the duration of the deferred sentence and complete 50 hours of community service.

According to an arrest affidavit, both Rice and the victim were staying at a friend’s house in late March. The woman told police that Rice repeatedly grabbed her crotch after she told him to quit.
