Boulder ranks as most expensive Colorado destination, survey says

To stay overnight, travelers will have to spend an average of $204 for the most affordable double room

Boulder is the most expensive summer destination in Colorado based on the cost of its lodging, according to a recent survey conducted by CheapHotels.org.

The survey compared the hotel rates of 20 popular destinations in the Centennial State posted for August 2018. Only centrally located hotels and inns rated at least 3 stars were considered by the survey.

To overnight stay in Boulder, travelers will have to spend an average of $204 for the most affordable double room. Second most expensive is Fort Collins. There, an August stay will cost $184 nightly. Aspen rounds out the top three.

Denver ranks fifth most expensive overall at an average price of $168 per night.

On the other end of the spectrum, the most affordable destination among those considered by the survey is Pagosa Springs, where a room can be found for just above $100 nightly.
