A bald eagle, an iconic symbol of America, posed for a portrait Wednesday at Denver International Airport on Colorado Day.
DIA officials released several photo images of the majestic bird, captured by a surveillance camera at the airport, on Twitter.

The big bird of prey — eagles can weigh up to 14 pounds and have a wingspan of up to 7½ feet — was perched on a railing. A jet on a runway is in the background of one photo.
A recent federal report says bald eagle nests in the state increased from 51 in 2009 to more than 125 nests in 2015. Bald eagles nest in nearby Barr Lake State Park.
Bald eagles can live up to 20 years. They can dive at speeds between 75 and 99 mph. On June 20, 1782, the bald eagle was chosen as the emblem of the United State of America.
