Two mountain goats were shot to death on Quandary Peak, and officials are searching for the poachers.

The reward had already been increased once in early July to $5,000, but more donations that have come into Colorado Operation Game Thief have allowed authorities to increase the reward, Colorado Parks and Wildlife said Monday.

The two goats were discovered shot dead July 3 almost three miles up the trail. Officials have been looking to speak with anyone who was hiking the trail that day or in the days prior.

Anyone with information about the poaching can call or email Operation Game Thief at 1-877-265-6648. Informants can also email game.thief@state.co.us to report any relevant information you may have. Anonymous reports are welcome.
