A passenger in the Toyota sedan was taken by ambulance to a hospital. The driver of the car, a 19-year-old woman, had to be extricated from the wreckage. Her name has not been released.
Investigators suspect alcohol was a factor in the crash.
Eastbound lanes were shut down for about and hour, and traffic backed up on the highway. One lane was reopened about 5 p.m., Cutler said. An investigation is ongoing.
