Funeral services for the pregnant Frederick woman and her two young daughters whose bodies were found in a shallow grave and an oil well will be held this weekend in North Carolina.
Shanann Watts, 34, and daughters Bella, 4, and Celeste, 3, were found earlier this month after they were reported missing. Watts’ husband, Christopher, is charged with murdering them.
The obituary, written by Shanann Watts’ parents, Frank Rzucek and Sandra Onorati Rzucek, noted how Shanann was excited to be pregnant as she fought a battle with Lupus. She planned to name her son Nico.
“She was our pride and joy, a true gift from God,” the obituary read. “We were so blessed to have such a joyful and wonderful daughter whose beauty was that of a doll.”
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Pinehurst, N.C.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for memorial donations made in Shanann Watts’ memory to the Lupus Foundation of America in Washington D.C.; the Frederick Police Department’s missing persons division; or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
