Rain and thunderstorms the next several days will drop temperatures to the lower 80s through the Labor Day weekend, forecasters say.
On Friday, isolated afternoon thunderstorms could bring powerful wind gusts of between 40 and 50 mph, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.
Scattered storms are expected to build after 1 p.m. The high temperature in downtown Denver is expected to be around 90 degrees.

It will be cooler on Saturday, with a high of around 82 degrees. There’s a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3 p.m., the NWS says. The low temperature will be around 56 degrees.Another round of storms are expected Sunday.
The highs will remain in the lower 80s on Sunday and Labor Day.
A few isolated isolated rain showers are expected Monday through Wednesday.
