Firefighters and law enforcement mopped up a fire Monday afternoon that burned about an acre in Coal Creek Canyon.
Authorities with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and the Coal Creek Canyon Fire Department battled the fire next to Colorado 72 about a mile and a half west of Colorado 93. Nobody was injured and no property was destroyed in the fire.
The cause of the fire remained unknown Monday afternoon.
The fire on Hwy 72 is in mop-up stage. Thanks to the efforts of the Coal Creek Canyon Fire Department and air support, it was contained to about an acre in size. No property damage, injuries or evacuations. Cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
