The former president of the Brighton Chamber of Commerce likely won’t face jail time after pleading guilty Wednesday to felony forgery for taking $112,000 from the group.

Prosecutors originally charged Holly Hansen, 45, with 76 counts of theft, forgery and unauthorized use of a financial transaction device for using $112,000 of the chamber’s money for personal purchases, according to a news release from 17th Judicial District Attorney Dave Young. She took the money between January 2014 and December 2016 while working as president of the chamber.

Hansen used a chamber credit card to pay for travel, clothes and her daughter’s cheerleading expenses, according to an arrest affidavit.

She pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of felony forgery. If the judge accepts the plea deal, Hansen will be sentenced to pay $112,000 restitution.

Hanen’s sentencing hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Nov. 14 in Adams County District Court.
