The future of Boulder’s Scott Carpenter Pool is coming into clearer focus as site plans for the $14.2 million revamp were finalized this week.

A design from Essenza Architecture shows a 10-lane lap pool, leisure pool, slides, a lazy river and a splash pad near the iconic rocket tower in the park. The bathhouse will also be completely remodeled and expanded.

Permits are pending approval, and the city will bid for construction this fall. Work should begin in early 2019 and wrap in time for the 2020 summer season; the pool will not operate during summer 2019.
