Semi-truck fire, brush fire shut down westbound I-70 near Parachute

The westbound lanes of Interstate 70 were closed Thursday afternoon near Parachute because of a semi-truck fire and brush fire.

The closure happened about 3 p.m., according to the State Patrol.

Traffic was detoured onto U.S. 6. There were no reports of injuries.

The highway reopened at about 4:30 p.m., according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
