An infant just days old was seriously injured when a dog attacked Saturday afternoon.

Police were called at 1:04 p.m. to the 2500 block of 10th Avenue Court, and the child was taken quickly to North Colorado Medical Center, Greeley Police Sgt. Wes Doney said.

Doney said they are still investigating the incident.

“I think there’s some more information we’re trying to learn,” Doney said.

It’s unclear what type of dog was involved in the attack, and Doney said he didn’t know the condition of the child, except to say the infant was seriously injured.

The dog was taken to the Weld County Humane Society about 2 p.m.
