Denver police have released surveillance photographs of two suspects in the Friday shootings in Denver’s LoDo neighborhood that left a security officer dead and another man suffering a critical gunshot wound.

Police have not been able to identify the suspects, who were recorded while walking along a sidewalk on Market Street. A black man wearing a black hoodie can be seen walking ahead of a white man, who is  wearing a white, long-sleeved shirt.

The suspects are wanted for questioning in the death of security officer Lucardio Kroener, 28, and the injuring of a second man, who has not been identified. Kroener was on duty as a security officer when he was shot, said Doug Schepman, Denver police spokesman.

The injured man was in critical but stable condition Monday at a local hospital, Schepman said.

Denver police released a crime alert Sunday that said the two suspects are believed to have assaulted the surviving victim near the corner of 15th and Market streets around 1:50 a.m.

Shortly afterwards, Kroener confronted one suspect near 14th and Market streets. A fight ensued between Kroener and that suspect, who then allegedly shot Kroener, according to the crime alert.

The gunman is described as about 30, with a stocky build, braided hair and facial hair, according to police.

This story is developing and will be updated as more information becomes available.
