The Broncos lost a heartbreaking game at home to the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday, dropping their record to 2-2 on the season. Since the AFL-NFL merger in 1970, Denver has started 2-2 a total 10 times, according to pro-football-reference.com.

In those first nine seasons, they’ve finished with eight or more wins five times (1983, 1985, 1995, 2000, 2012). Of those five, they’ve made three playoff appearances (1983, 2000, 2012), but were bounced in each of their first game — including that shocking 38-35 loss in double overtime to the Ravens in Peyton Manning’s first year here.

The 2018 Broncos have fallen off, according to oddsmakers. Bovada lists Denver as a 60-to-1 longshot to win the Super Bowl and they’re at 3-to-1 odds to make the playoffs, 10th best in the AFC. Keep in mind, only six teams make the playoffs.
