Search crews set out Saturday morning to find a 30-year-old New Jersey man who was reported overdue after an attempted Thursday climb on Longs Peak.

Ryan Albert was last seen leaving the Denver area early Thursday morning, Oct. 4, wearing dark clothes and a backpack. A family member contacted authorities Friday to report Albert was late in checking in.
Albert’s rental car was found at the Longs Peak trail head Friday afternoon.
The Rocky Mountain National Park’s Search and Rescue team began working the Longs Peak area Saturday morning, including the Boulder Field, the Keyhole Route, The Loft, Chasm Cirque, North Longs Peak and Boulder Brook Saturday morning. The weather forecast in that area calls for freezing temperatures and severe and unpredictable weather including snow, hail, sleet, thunder and lighting, said Rocky Mountain National Park spokeswoman Lindsey Lewis.
Park rangers would like to hear from anyone who has been in the Longs Peak area since Thursday or who may have had contact with Albert regarding his planned route on Longs Peak. People can call 970-586-1204 with their information.
