An 11-year-old girl, who fought off an abductor by biting him, is being called “extraordinary” by Aurora police.
The girl was walking home from her school bus stop around 5:15 p.m. Thursday on East Exposition Avenue in Aurora when a man walking the opposite direction grabbed her, placing his hand over her mouth, police said.
“She fought back, she screamed and she bit this suspect,” chief Nick Metz said at a Friday press conference aired on Facebook. “This young lady — extraordinary young lady — did what she needed to do to get away.”

With her efforts, the suspect let go and took off running from the scene. Police are speaking with a person of interest, but no one has been arrested or charged. The investigation is ongoing.
“This is a very dangerous person that we’re dealing with,” Metz said.
The suspect is described as a roughly 39-year-old white male, approximately 6-foot-4. He was seen wearing a black hoodie and jeans with black and white shoes and a black backpack.
Police also are searching for a potential witness who was driving an older, black, four-door sedan eastbound on East Exposition Avenue when the attempted abduction happened.
The actions the 11-year-old took are exactly what should be done for anyone confronted with this situation, police said.
“Thatap the tip I would give to anybody,” Metz said. “If you face a situation like this, adult or a child, the best thing you can do is fight and fight hard. Scream and scream loud.”
