Following a 3-0-1 road trip, the Avalanche is back at the for a Wednesday-night affair against the quick-and-elusive . It will be Colorado’s first home game since Oct. 13, when it blew an early 2-0 lead and fell to the in overtime.

“We don’t want to let our foot off the gas,” Avs defenseman said after Wednesday’s morning skate. “We learned from that game against Calgary. Obviously, we want to be a good home team. That’s our goal. We had an off game against Calgary but that’s in the past. The Calgary game was five games ago and we had a good situation on the road.”

Avs coach is going with the same lineup from Monday’s 4-1 victory at Philadelphia. Goalie Semyon Varlamov will start in net and the healthy scratches will be forward and defenseman .

“Loved our road trip, no question,” Bednar said. “To be able to go on the road and get points in all four games is really good, a positive step in the right direction. But not too much time to celebrate, obviously, you’ve got Tampa coming in. They’re a high-flying team that can hurt you in a lot of different ways.”

The Lightning (5-1-1) is in the midst of a five-game road trip, and 1-0-1 during it thus far. Colorado hasn’t lost in regulation since Oct. 9 at Columbus, going 4-0-2 since.

Injury update. Forward and defenseman Conor Timmins remain out with concussion-like symptoms. Compher was injured in the Oct. 13 game against Calgary and has not resumed skating. “He has his good days and bad days,” Bednar said of Compher. Timmins has yet to play this season but is back with the team after spending some time at his home in Ontario, Canada. “Feeling a little bit better,” Bednar said of Timmins. “I don’t have a timeline on him, either.”
