Someone fired gunshots Friday morning near an Aurora high school, leading to increased security measures.
The shots were fired about 10:50 a.m. in the area of East 11th Avenue and Nome Street, just north of Aurora Central High School, according to police. No students were injured.
Officers found four cars that had been damaged and shell casings in the area. It doesn’t appear any students were targeted.

Student witnesses described a vehicle involved in the incident as a black Ford Focus sedan with a temporary license tag and a sticker on the driver’s side rear bumper. There were three people in the vehicle.
