Suspected DUI driver arrested in deadly pedestrian hit-and-run collision in Aurora

A driver suspected of hitting and killing a 26-year-old woman, and fleeing the scene, has been arrested, police said.

The fatal pedestrian hit-and-run incident happened at about 3 a.m. Sunday near East Iliff Avenue and South Pagosa Way, according to police.

The victim was on a sidewalk when she was struck, police said. She died at the scene.

Timothy Scott Knutson, 37, has been arrested as a suspect in the case, police announced Monday. Knutson is being held on suspicion of vehicular homicide, leaving the scene after an accident involving death, careless driving resulting in death and DUI.

An investigation is ongoing.
