The Demaryius Thomas era is over with the Broncos.
The Denver receiver was traded with a 2019 seventh-round pick to the Houston Texans for 2019 fourth- and seventh-round picks. He departs as one of the top offensive weapons in franchise history. In nine seasons, he amassed 9,055 yards receiving and 60 touchdowns — second only to Rod Smith — and his 665 catches are third behind Smith and Shannon Sharpe.
Future Ring of Famer? No doubt. He was part of two Super Bowl teams, two second-team All-Pro teams, five Pro Bowl teams and he owns a number of franchise records. Even president and CEO Joe Ellis said, “We look forward to honoring D.T. one day as a Ring of Famer and appreciate his many contributions to the Broncos.”
Thomas’ biggest highlight, however, came on Jan. 8, 2012: One of the most memorable play in Broncos history, quarterback Tim Tebow connected with the second-year receiver for an 80-yard touchdown on the first play of overtime against the Steelers to give Denver a 29-23 win and advance in the playoffs.
