A pickup ran off U.S. 6 on Tuesday night, crashing into Clear Creek and shutting down the canyon as the driver was rescued from the wreckage.
Update Hwy 6 closure: Hwy 6 will be closed from CO 93/ CO 58 to CO 119 in Clear Creek Canyon. Unknown length of closure. One crash victim being transported with non-life threatening injuries. Vehicle is in the creek.

The single-vehicle crash happened before 9 p.m., according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
The driver, who suffered injuries that are not life-threatening, was taken to a hospital by ambulance.

Rescue personnel with the Golden Fire Department used pulleys and a litter to lift the injured driver from the river to the roadway.
The canyon was closed, from the intersection of Colorado 93 and Colorado 58 in Golden to Colorado 119, while the rescue effort was underway.
The cause of the crash is under investigation. The highway reopened at about 10:15 p.m.
