will shut down its Castle Rock operation next year, eliminating 42 jobs in the process, according to a company announcement last month.

The impending closure of the facility at 401 Prairie Hawk Drive was announced in a letter to the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment dated Oct. 31. The letter, sent in accordance with the requirements of the federal Worker Readjustment and Retraining Notification Act, said the Castle Rock plant is being closed “as a result of corporate reorganization.”

“This will result in the layoff of 42 employees, beginning on 01/05/2019 and continuing for the next four months,” Acme vice president of human relations Carol Kiburz wrote.

Acme is based in Fort Worth, Texas. Its website, Brick.com, lists more than 200 dealer locations across the U.S. and Canada. The Castle Rock plant is its only Colorado outpost.
