A climber fell about 50 feet Friday on the Second Flatiron in Chautauqua Park and was taken to a hospital.

The 23-year-old man apparently was “free climbing,” without ropes or safety equipment, when he fell, according to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office was notified of the fall about 6:20 p.m., according to a news release.

The climber suffered a cut on his head and was in fair condition.
