Game of the week
Kansas City at L.A. Rams
At mid-week, the over-under was 64 points, which would be the highest since 1986. The Monday night game was relocated from Mexico City (terrible field conditions) to Los Angeles. The Rams are a 3 1/2-point favorite and both teams are 9-1. A Super Bowl preview? Maybe, but for now, here’s hoping for an offensive showcase.
Rams 42, Chiefs 35
Lock of the week
Pittsburgh at Jacksonville
The Steelers are a 5 1/2-point road favorite over the reeling Jaguars (five consecutive losses). NBC wanted nothing to do with the Jaguars, flexing this game out of prime time. In two losses to Jacksonville last year, Ben Roethlisberger had six interceptions. He’ll have five touchdown passes on Sunday.
Steelers 35, Jaguars 21
Upset of the week
Tennessee at Indianapolis
Despite two consecutive wins, the Titans are a two-point road underdog at Indianapolis. We like the Titans because quarterback Marcus Mariota has seemingly turned a corner, posting passer ratings of 119.9 and 125.0 (combined four touchdowns) in wins over Dallas and New England.
Titans 27, Colts 23
