Three Colorado State and two Air Force football players were honored as the Mountain West announced its all-conference teams and individual award winners Wednesday.
Rams junior wide receiver Preston Williams and sophomore punter Ryan Stonehouse were named to the first team. CSU senior linebacker Josh Watson joined Air Force sophomore defensive lineman Jordan Jackson and senior offense lineman Griffin Landrum on the second team.
Wyoming senior defensive back Andrew Wingard, a former Ralston Valley star, and junior placekicker Cooper Rothe, a Longmont alumnus, were named to the first team. Rothe was also named the Mountain West’s special teams player of the year.
Boise State senior quarterback Brett Rypien was named offensive player of the year, and Fresno State junior linebacker Jeff Allison was the defensive player of the year. Freshman of the year honor went to Nevada running back Toa Taua and Utah State’s Matt Wells was the coach of the year.
