Susana Cordova, acting superintendent of Denver Public Schools speaks at the Denver Center for International Studies in Denver, Co. Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016. The school, along with Denver Public Schools overall, are celebrating an increase in the graduation rate.

Denver Public Schools is hosting a community meeting Tuesday at George Washington High School for the public, parents and students to ask questions of Susana Cordova, the sole finalist for the job of district superintendent.

The meeting at George Washington, 655 S. Monaco Parkway, will be from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

District staff will have a chance to quiz Cordova on Wednesday, Dec. 12, at a yet-to-be determined time. Virtual meetings with school leaders are also planned for the week of Dec. 10.

The meetings will help the DPS school board decide if Cordova will be hired for the job, which was held by Tom Boasberg for nearly 10 years. Boasberg left in October.

Cordova is currently deputy superintendent at DPS. The DPS school board is expected to make a final decision on Cordova’s hiring Dec. 17.
