After a long day on the slopes, when your limbs are sore and face is windswept, there’s nothing like a nice boozy drink. And if you’re looking for a good place to grab it, apparently there’s nothing like Steamboat Springs’ Double Diamonds Bar.
The bar was named the best après-ski bar in North America this weekend by . It was celebrated as a “late night party spot” known for cheap drinks, brats and sandwiches, and a dance floor. It also got some brownie points for being across the street from a mountain base shuttle stop.
Three other Colorado spots made the Top 10 list. Breckenridge’s Gold Pan Saloon came in third, Snowmass’ New Belgium Range Station slotted fifth and Vail’s Garfinkel’s scraped ninth.
The initial 20 après spots were picked by TheSkiDiva.com’s Wendy Clinch, Powderhounds’ Lyndell Keating and braveskimom.com’s Kristen Lummis, along with USA Today’s 10Best editor, according to USA Today. The top 10 were narrowed down by popular vote.
This wasn’t the only Colorado place to land a spot on USA Today’s ski-related top 10 lists. , which was met with mixed reactions from Coloradans, Devil’s Thumb Ranch was named the best cross-country ski resort, and Viceroy Snowmass was named the best ski hotel.
