Boulder police on Wednesday arrested a man after he attempted to run his girlfriend over with a car.
Alejandro Morales-Ibarra, 21, was arrested on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder, first-degree kidnapping, second-degree assault, criminal mischief, reckless endangerment and domestic violence.
According to a news release from Boulder police spokeswoman Shannon Aulabaugh, Morales-Ibarra was assaulting his girlfriend, who was driving, while in the passenger seat of the vehicle.
At around 3:20 p.m., his girlfriend pulled over and ran into Grease Monkey at 2405 28th St. for help. Morales-Ibarra moved to the driver’s seat and attempted to run his girlfriend over, but instead drove into a bay and struck a parked vehicle, according to Aulabaugh.
Aulabaugh said Morales-Ibarra “just missed” hitting his girlfriend.
