The cold front sweeping the state is expected to bring several inches of snow, with the National Weather Service warning that roads could be slippery when commuters head to work Monday morning.

The Denver metro is expected to get 2 to 4 inches of snow, while foothills south and west of Denver could see 4 to 7 inches, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

At Rocky Mountain National Park, U.S. 36 will be closed past Beaver Meadows Visitor Center and U.S. 34 will be closed past Fall River Entrance starting at 5 p.m. on Sunday,

The cold temperatures and gusty winds that are expected to hit Monday will also lead to wind chills near -20 degrees. The National Weather Service said that on Monday night, frostbite could occur on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.
