Monaco was shut down in both directions as police responded to the scene. About 45 minutes after reporting the disturbance on Twitter, police described the incident as a death investigation with one person dead.
Police responded and found a “suspect” vehicle, a van, said John White, a police spokesman. Witnesses reported hearing one gunshot fired in the area. The person who died was found inside the van in a King Soopers parking lot.
Traffic on heavily traveled Monaco has reopened. An investigation is ongoing.
