A construction flagger hit by a vehicle Wednesday afternoon in Adams County was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.

The incident happened about 2:50 p.m. at the intersection of West 62nd Avenue and Lowell Boulevard, according to Gary Cutler, State Patrol spokesman.

The injured person, who works for a private company, was taken to Denver Health medical center before being pronounced dead. The driver of the Jeep involved in the collision stayed at the scene. An investigation is ongoing.

Lowell Boulevard was shut down by the incident.
